Ah, summer ... it's beginning to wan — packing up its ripe red tomatoes and crisp ears of corn, and catching the next train out of town.
The kids are back in school, the days are getting shorter, some mornings have a frosty edge to them, and soon the leaves here will begin to change colour.
Still, I'm sure some great memories linger for all of you.
There are always some things that make summer special — sunsets by a lake, bonfires and a wiener roast, those oh-so-gooey S'mores, a singsong with someone playing a guitar, squeezing pieces into a jigsaw puzzle, playing cards, late-night philosophizing about life, the past, or the future, a summer romance — oh the list just goes on and on.
Summer always seems to be a time of quiet reflection. Life slows down to a snail's pace, and moments of happiness seem to linger far beyond your expectations.
Alas, it's time to return from the open air and slip back into the routine of our hurried lives.
Thanks, once again, to da'Shade for filling in for me over my break, and thanks to you for coming 'round again to see what's percolating on Koffee With Kennedy. It's because of you that I can honestly say ...
... it's good to be back.
