I guess the similarity lies within the desolate silences that blanket the air .....
ReplyDeleteActually, the first day I went out, all you could hear was the sudden sound of what seemed like a gunshot, but was in reality another tree falling. Eerie and scary at the same time ... and a little sad ...
DeleteMy experience with a natural disaster has come in the form of a hurricane or a tropical storm. Sadly, there is a bit of beauty to some of your photos. I can see where the ice storm might be compared to the aftermath of a bombing, but not from an "Armerican" drone ... peace!

DeleteI saw this on the news...ice is very dangerous stuff! Stay safe and warm!
ReplyDeleteI guess the mayor wasn't much help (he has been on the news here too)
Oh, the mayor ... best not discuss him at all ... ;o}
DeleteWe had one here a couple of years ago. A heavy broken limb is still precariously perched 100 feet above my trailer in a very tall Douglas Fir. It is still stuck up there after several incidences of heavy winds--so far, so good.
