i'm standing in the rain ...
i suppose
if i had an umbrella
i would not be wet
and possibly
more content
i suppose
if i had a yellow slicker
with a broad-brimmed
bucket hat to match
i would not be wet
and possibly
more content
i suppose
if i had knee-high gumboots
over thick wool socks
i would not be wet
and possibly
more content
but i have
no umbrella
no yellow slicker
with a broad-brimmed
bucket hat to match
no knee-high gumboots
over thick wool socks
and so
i suppose
i will have to consent
to getting wet
and be content with that

O, Kennedy's a' weet, poor body, Kennedy's seldom dry: He draigl't a' his petticoatie :), ...this rain is with a body of a man and with his will also... behind the shadows of the clouds, washed and pure are those who are content with their true self...
ReplyDeleteYou have to be happy with what there is ...
DeleteI am happy:) I know that rain is wet... you feel it too...
DeleteThere is something rather liberating standing in the rain ~smile~ .... nothing like a good solid soaking to shift the mind into gear ......
ReplyDeleteSometimes, dreams are simply wet ...
Delete~smile~ ... there is truth in that!! But I tend to think that because of my dreams, everything else seems wet as nothing compares to my dream ... but then again it could be because my dream is simply wet ~grin~
DeleteDirty little dreams?
DeleteWell there are those too ... but I prefer to stick to my real dream!
DeleteI suppose you could always make lemonade, KJ.
ReplyDelete~Manfred
Ah, but one would need lemons ... ;o}
DeleteIt's rather like standing in the shower with your clothes on ... or not. Shall I send you a slicker, boots, and an umbrella?
ReplyDelete"standing in the shower with your clothes on"
DeleteDuring the 60s, that was called doing the wash ...
I don't mind standing in the rain as long as it is not cold rain...
ReplyDelete... not so bad when you're naked either ... ;o}
