The Sun Also Rises
I am constantly amazed at the indestructability of the human spirit.
I mean, think about it. What would be your bottom line? What event or circumstance could be so very tragic that you would flatten out, lose all your passion for living, and simply give up?
Failing health? Loss of a loved one? Betrayal? Loneliness? Confusion? Chaos? Spiritual crisis? Financial ruin?
From what I have experienced in life, people face life's hardships with the courage to carry on, no matter how deeply they fall into the cold waters of disappointment and despair. We seem, almost always, to rise like air bubbles to the surface and survive.
If yesterday, your world shattered like a mirror falling from the wall, today you would most likely be sweeping up the pieces and throwing the shards of that broken dream into the dustbin.
When our lives fall apart, we recreate our lives.
And in those moments when we are faced with the worst, we become better for having known the worst and overcoming even the darkest nights of our lives.
