Friends With Benefits

Friends With Benefits

Many people have a relationship with someone based on the term, "friends with benefits."

This means that, although the two are not "partners" in the truest sense of the word, they do have a sexual relationship. Matters of love or dating or finance never surface, because although they may have affection for one another as "friends," there is no long term commitment involved. Each is presumably free to date and be intimate with other people, undoubtedly until one of the two "friends with benefits" finds someone with whom they wish to make a more serious commitment. In the meantime, they solve the problem of sexual desire.

I suppose many people will find such a situation, at the very best, odd while others will find it downright reprehensible. Most believe that sexual intimacy should be tied to emotional intimacy. Still, physical needs are what they are.

I am not a fan of pot roast, but I will eat it if that's what is on the plate at dinnertime. Then again, I will not eat liver no matter how it is prepared.
